Heritage Commercial Buildings in Downtown New Westminster

New Westminster's Downtown Heritage Register includes some of the oldest commercial buildings in BC — the historic retail blocks on Columbia Street date back to the late 19th and early 20th centuries. These buildings require heritage-appropriate colour selection, compatible coating formulations for older masonry and wood substrates, and in some cases approval from the City's Heritage Commission before exterior work proceeds. Sapperton District Industrial and Commercial

Sapperton's industrial heritage along the north slope of New Westminster — the former Brewery District and surrounding light industrial area — has transitioned largely to commercial and mixed-use. The heritage brewery buildings have been converted to office and retail, and the newer commercial buildings on the north side of Brunette Avenue serve a mix of light industrial, distribution, and office tenants. Strata and High-Rise Painting in New Westminster

New Westminster's waterfront has developed significantly in the past 15 years, with residential towers along the Fraser River from Quayside Drive to Westminster Pier Park. These towers — predominantly concrete construction — need exterior programs including elastomeric coatings on concrete spandrel panels, balcony deck waterproofing, and parkade structural maintenance painting. Interior programs in the common areas of these buildings are typically low-VOC formulations in corridors and lobbies, with premium washable finishes in high-traffic stair cores.
